UN Sustainable Development Goals

What we care for

Quality Education

This goal is about inclusion in education globally + life-long learning opportunities.  STEM Curiosity addresses this goal by advancing education in STEM subjects.

Traditional education is based on industrialisation and uniformity, which hinder rather than promote life-long learning.  STEM Curiosity values exploration, imagination, creativity.  While adult-led curricula have a place in education, the child-led, intrinsically motivated, authentic, deep learning experiences are being lost with the systematic approach to education.

STEM Curiosity aims to improve the health of this and future generations by promoting the social, mental and physical benefits of ‘play’ (for children, adolescents and adults alike).  STEM Curiosity values getting messy (sensory play), engaging people with their natural environment, and the mental and physical benefits of being outdoors.

Good Health & Wellbeing

Gender Equality

Women are traditionally under-represented in the STEM subjects, both in schools and in the workforce (though they tend to engage more in some STEM subjects than others).  STEM Curiosity offers girls equal opportunity to become curious, explore, engage with and create in our play events.  STEM-play promotes learning for everyone by catering for prior knowledge, language and various ways of making sense of the world.  Our stress-free, no failure approach suits being curious about STEM subjects of science, technology, engineering and maths.
